Lee Roy Selmon blends the benefits of a football scholarship within his family and the benefits of community service. His family's first name is he's the youngest out of the nine children raised by Eufala through Lucious Selmon. Two, football. He was one of three brothers who participated in the football team of Oklahoma. Three brothers were All-America. Lucious Jr. Dewey, Lee Roy, and Lucious Jr. Dewey started the 1973 season. Lee Roy is the winner of both Outland Awards as well as Lombardi Awards. He was one of the top linemen in all of the nation. Over the course of three seasons, Oklahoma was 32-1-1 with Roy serving as their starting line-up. The team also took home the national title twice. Selmon was given a second scholarship in 1975, and was named as an National Football Foundation Student-Athlete. Selmon has a bachelor's degree in educational studies. Lee Roy dedicated ten volunteer time per week throughout the college. Following graduation Lee Roy moved to Tampa which is where he played for nine years playing for the Buccaneers. 3 times, he was named an All-Pro. He began his business career. In 1988, while working as an account representative at First Florida Bank of Tampa, he worked with Special Olympics Easter Seals Baptist Church Ronald McDonald House United Negro College Fund South Florida Institute Black Life Hall of Fame Bowl Committee. In 1982 The Junior Chamber of Commerce recognized Lee Roy as being among 10 of America's most outstanding young males. As a student, Lee Roy was 6-2 and weighed about 256 pounds. He captained his college team in the year 1975. Lee Roy joined the University of South Florida in 1993 as an Associate Director of Sports. He was named associate director of athletics by the College Football Hall of Fame named the player in the year 1988. GTE Academic All-America Hall of Fame in 1994. Pro Football Hall of Fame in 1995. His parents, Lucious and Mary Selmon Jr. have been awarded the Distinguished American Award in 1989 from the Oklahoma City Chapter National Football Foundation. The award was presented by Henry Bellmon govenor of Oklahoma.
